THE KAFUNJO COMMUNITY PROJECT

In 2018 Jack Searson visited Kafunjo as part of a Kafunjo Overland Safaris trip and created this incredible short film to showcase his experiences and tell the story of The Kafunjo Community Project.

Jack used his creativity and talent with a drone and a hand held camera to create this truly beautiful short film that sums up what Kafunjo is all about.

Since then we have used his video to share the message of Kafunjo to the wider world.

THE HEART OF KAFUNJO.

In 2020 Martin Renshaw, a talented musician, visited Kafunjo and was inspired to write an anthem for the project to summarise the incredible story of Bruno and how he was able to bring the children of the village together, and with the help of his friends around the world, bring opportunity and hope to this forgotten village.

MY FIRST DAY IN KAFUNJO

In 2020 Oliver Pinel visited Kafunjo as part of a Kafunjo Overland Safaris trip. He brought a plethora of high tech photography and videography equipment and set to work creating this beautiful short film which described his first day at the project.

A WALK AROUND KAFUNJO

In 2020 we returned to Kafunjo and I had the chance to walk around the project to show our supporters from varius primary schools in Jersey the incredible progress that has been made in a few short years.

The film starts beneath the shade of the mango tree where Bruno first gathered the children of the village together, before continuing through to the completed primary school and orphanage before finishing at the present site of The Kafunjo Green School build.

CLEAN WATER TO KAFUNJO.

In 2016 we visited the project bringing a GRIFAID water purifier. This is a short video showing how this incredible piece of equipment can convert stagnant, dirty water into beautiful clear water suitable for drinking.

Since then Kafunjo has now been connected to mains water which along with our rain water harvesting systems provide safe and clean water to the project and the community that lives nearby.

FIRST CLASSROOM IS DONE.  WHAT NEXT?!

In 2015 we visited the project for the first time having watched Bruno's efforts to build the first classroom. It was an unforgettable experience to see the classroom that our fund raising efforts had helped to create. Seeing the children engage with their lessons beneath the roof of our humble classroom made us realise how important this project was.

This first visit invigorated our enthusiasm for the project and belief in Bruno's vision.

MEET THE TEAM!

This short video was made in 2016 using a selection of still photographs taken of the children and the staff at the project in the early days.

BRUNOPALOOZA.

In 2019, following a trip to the project, some of Bruno's supporters from Jersey organised Brunopalooza, a music event at The Watersplash in Jersey. This is the promotional video we made with input from our supporters around the world.

THE KAFUNJO CLINIC

In 2021 we began work on The Kafunjo Clinic to provide free healthcare to the children of the project. Our principle motivation was to be able to provide immediate treatment for malaria which threatens the lives of so many in the village.

A SONG OF THANKS

In 2021, Shirah Ainebyoonya, a child who has progressed through our primary school and now attends a nearby secondary school wrote this beautiful song to say thanks to our supporters for all the help they have given to the project. Martin Renshaw directed this music video as a means of getting the musical talents of the children shared to a wider audience.

THE KAFUNJO KITCHEN

This short film is about the older children at the project who all pitch in and lend a hand in cooking for the younger kids at the orphanage.

KAFUNJO LOVES MANCHESTER UNITED

In 2020 we received a donation of football kits from our friends at Manchester United FC for our very own football team; Kafunjo Dream League FC. This film, directed by Martin Renshaw showcases their talent, hard work ethic, love of Manchester United and passion for the game.
